Adolf (Adi) Dassler

  • Adi was born on November 3rd,1900
  • Adi was born in the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany

  • In 1920, Adi made a small shoe production unit in his mothers former laundering shed

  • Adi was married to Käthe on March 17th, 1934
  • Adi had one son, Horst, and four daughters, Inge, Karin, Brigitte, and Sigrid
  • Adi and Rudolf begin to feud about the company after Rudi was arrested by American forces
  • Gebrüder Dassler officially sepparated in April, 1948 and Adi founded the company Adidas
  • Adi Dassler died on September 6th, 1978 in Herzogenaurach, Germany

Rudolf (Rudi) Dassler

  • Rudi was born on March 26th, 1898
  • Rudi was born in the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany
  • Rudi's father and mother were Christoph and Paulina Dassler and he had two brothers, Fritz and Rudolf, and one sister Marie
  • In 1923, Rudi joined his younger brother at his small shoe business that was later called Gebrüder Dassler
  • Gebrüder Dassler gets their newly invented spikes on the feet of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics
  • Rudi was married to Friedl Strasser on May 6th, 1928
  • Rudi had two sons, Armin and Gerd
  • Rudi suspects Adi is trying to oust him from the company after he is arrested by American forces to be questioned about his role in the Nazi regime
  • Gebrüder Dasler officialy sepparated in April, 1948 and Rudi founded the company Puma
  • Rudi Dassler died on October 27th, 1974 in Herzogenaurach, Germany
